Crossfit Day 614 – 6/11/16

YAY Saturday Partner WOD!

I got to partner up with Terry and Alyssa, 3 way partnership, good times.

21-15-9

Calorie Row (we used the Ski Erg)

Burpee Box Jumps (omg these took forever)

400m run after each round

Terry and I actually had to continue on our own after Alyssa had some dizziness! We had her ride the airdyne while we continued with the Ski Erg and burpee box jumps. We didn’t want her to get injured or pass out, so we all just kept up with the rotation and movement. Good times, that’s what friends are for!

Crossfit Day 612 – Partnerless Partner WODs – 6/8/16

I’m not crazy about partner WODs, so when the opportunity presented itself to just, you know, do all the work by myself, I jumped at it.

20 Min AMRAP

Partner 1:
400m Run
Partner 2:
12 Front Rack Lunges (75/55)
14 Push Ups
16 Sit Ups

See… what’s so great about this is, I didn’t have to do any of the running! Bonus.

I completed 6 Rounds + 26 Reps on my own. Very exciting.

Crossfit Day 610 – Saturdays – 6/4/16

Lately, I’ve been trying to endure more Saturday WODs than I used to, only because why not? I could use the cardio, and 2 days without working out has been stressful on my brain. So, I suck it up and go, knowing that I’ll just modify whatever I need to, if necessary.

18 min AMRAP, Partner WOD with Jamie!

Partner 1 runs 200m
Partner 2 does:
10 hang power cleans 95/65 (cake)
12 push jerks (easy peasy)
14 wall balls (pshhh)

I told Jamie I’d do all the partner 2 work if she just ran the whole time. 😀

Our final score was 7 rounds + 27 reps.

On another note: I’ve been attempting to keep fruit in the house in lieu of sweets, because if I crave something sweet and all I have are raspberries and strawberries, guess what? I’ll eat the raspberries and strawberries. Bonus if I clean them ahead of time and they’re ready to eat. It’s been working for the most part. 🙂

Crossfit Day 609 – 100 Z-Presses for Time – 6/3/16

This workout had my name ALL over it.

Strict Press – 5-5-3-3-3-1-1

I got a cool PR of 130lbs on my strict press what??

THEN we went on to do 100 z-presses (seated strict press) for time. With a 35lb womens bar, I completed 100 reps in 3:07, which earned me the best time for RX girls in the gym that day. I take it when I can get it!

The final part of the WOD was burpees and ring dips, ME Alternating EMOM, yay. My final score was 105.

I happened to run out of time today, so I couldn’t braid my hair as I usually do. The result was messy. No excuses, though!

Long Hair and Burpees

Crossfit Day 608 – Squat Clean Ladder – 6/2/16

After Murph, I felt like I had been hit with several semi trucks, consecutively. I am not sure it was really worth the recovery and down time, but at least I can officially say I completed a whole Murph. Not sure I want to do that again.

My first day back after Murph was a Squat Clean ladder, which is totally my thing. I finally reached my old PR weight of 185, and I did it pretty nicely too. It wasn’t an ugly squat clean, just a really heavy one!

The WOD:

1 rep every minute for 10 minutes

Then
1 rep every 2 minutes for 10 minutes
*increase weight as possible*

Then
5 minute AMRAP
Front squats at 80% bodyweight
No racks allowed

The front squats at the end were killer. I had put so much into the heavy squat cleans, that front squatting heavy weight was just ridiculous. Oh well! My final score was 18 reps. Works for me.

Crossfit Day 607 – Memorial Day Murph – 5/30/16

My very first FULL Murph. This was a big day. I have been stressing and worrying and fretting over this day. A few months ago, I made a deal with Gina that I’d do a full Murph with her. It would be my first Full Murph, and I was determined to do it. The weeks and days leading up to it, I had been seriously sweating it. 100 pull ups? How am I going to do 100 pull ups? I can’t even get through 25 without taking a ton of breaks! 2 miles?? I haven’t run 2 miles, oh.. ever! Like literally ever. Except that one time I did a 5k, and that took me 43 minutes. Right. Exactly. I’ve never run 2 miles before.

So then I was like, fine, maybe I’ll do the whole reps, but half miles! And Dave was all like, what’s the big deal? Just run the two miles! And so then I stressed it, again. I finally found a rep scheme that I could tolerate. 2-4-6 pull ups, push ups, air squats. I CAN DO THAT. So I did.

Ladies and Gentlemen.. my very first full Murph. 2016. Finishing at 72 minutes and 35 seconds. 1 hour, 12 minutes, 35 seconds.

Crossfit Day 606 – OHS for Fun – 5/27/16

First we started out with a Snatch complex. Snatch then 2 OHS without putting the bar down. I comfortably snatched 125 and then squatted it twice. I more than likely could have gone up, but my wrists were bothering me and it wasn’t worth pushing. I will try it again on my own.

WOD:
100-80-60-40-20 Double Under
10-8-6-4-2 Overhead Squat, 115/75
5-4-3-2-1 Ring Muscle-ups OR 20-16-12-8-4 Push Ups

I finished in 9:24

Crossfit Day 605 – All the Rope Climbs – 5/24/16

Today was a tough one. It was a day that I couldn’t think about, or I would’ve stressed over it and probably just not have gone. It wasn’t until I got home and was getting dressed that I remembered there would be rope climbs. And handstand walks. I got dressed anyway and went, determined to do my best.

After our warm ups and whatnot, I was messing around with handstand walks, and just, on a whim, busted out a few attempts. I actually went further than I thought I would, by practicing my counter balance with my legs. (scorpion feet?) The fact that someone even commented on it was either a) them noticing that I did better than usual or b) they just felt bad that I could only get 3 feet across the floor on my hands but whichever.

This is also more than likely the most rope climbs I’ve ever done during a WOD. I usually give up and just scale them back, reps-wise, during WODs because they are so exhausting for me. I was pretty proud of myself here.

The WOD(s):
100′ HS Walk (8 Wall Walks)
5 Power Clean and Jerk, 225/155
3 Legless Rope Climbs

Rest 4 Minutes

2 Rounds
18 Calorie Row
3 Power Clean and Jerk, 225/155
2 Legless Rope Climbs
Rest 4 Minutes
3 Rounds
9 Calorie Row
2 Power Clean and Jerk, 225/155
1 Legless Rope Climb

I did all my rope climbs! Not legless, but still rope climbs! I did all my 155lb C&J, something I’m super proud of, and I did as much rowing as I could. It wasn’t RX because the rope climbs weren’t legless and I didn’t get my 100ft of HS walks in. (but I did do about 10-15ft? Yesss…)

My time ended up being 23 min or something. Yay.
