Today was a tough one. It was a day that I couldn’t think about, or I would’ve stressed over it and probably just not have gone. It wasn’t until I got home and was getting dressed that I remembered there would be rope climbs. And handstand walks. I got dressed anyway and went, determined to do my best.
After our warm ups and whatnot, I was messing around with handstand walks, and just, on a whim, busted out a few attempts. I actually went further than I thought I would, by practicing my counter balance with my legs. (scorpion feet?) The fact that someone even commented on it was either a) them noticing that I did better than usual or b) they just felt bad that I could only get 3 feet across the floor on my hands but whichever.
This is also more than likely the most rope climbs I’ve ever done during a WOD. I usually give up and just scale them back, reps-wise, during WODs because they are so exhausting for me. I was pretty proud of myself here.
The WOD(s):
100′ HS Walk (8 Wall Walks)
5 Power Clean and Jerk, 225/155
3 Legless Rope Climbs
Rest 4 Minutes
2 Rounds
18 Calorie Row
3 Power Clean and Jerk, 225/155
2 Legless Rope Climbs
Rest 4 Minutes
3 Rounds
9 Calorie Row
2 Power Clean and Jerk, 225/155
1 Legless Rope Climb
I did all my rope climbs! Not legless, but still rope climbs! I did all my 155lb C&J, something I’m super proud of, and I did as much rowing as I could. It wasn’t RX because the rope climbs weren’t legless and I didn’t get my 100ft of HS walks in. (but I did do about 10-15ft? Yesss…)
My time ended up being 23 min or something. Yay.
