Today was awesome! I’m liking my new-found motivation to keep pushing myself to do more. It feels so good. On days I don’t have crossfit, I feel like I’m missing something from my day. I also can plan my work around this too, but still, when I don’t work out, it feels like something’s missing.
I know I’ve been saying this for a few blog posts now, but I’m ready to take it up a step again. I’ll be back at Crossfit tomorrow at 5:30p, and then Friday I’m going to try and make it to spin class at the Y either at 4:30 or 5:30p.
Saturday, I am participating in my first ever 5k run, which everyone says will be easy, but long distance running has never been something that I was good at.. so we’ll see! Kind of excited, since I’ll be going with my whole Crossfit Inertia team. 🙂
Today’s workout was great. Elaine was there, Nick, Mitch and myself! We warmed up with the following:
2 rounds, bar only:
10 good mornings
10 push ups
10 romanian dead lifts
5 pull ups (band assisted)
Today was my first time that I DIDN’T do jumping pull ups! I used two of the bands on one foot to help me get my lift. Shit was hard, but it was pretty cool to do that.
For our Strength WOD, we were supposed to work on dead lifts, but Erin M changed it up for me, since deadlifts really strain my back (at least after that one really bad time..) So I did front squats instead.
I did 5 rounds of 3 reps at 75-80% of our 1RM, but I dunno, I was pretty close to my 1 rep max on those front squats!
I started out with 95lbs, and increased to 115, 125, 135 and finally finishing at 145lbs.
Our WOD today was the following:
3RFT 7 kettlebell swings (35lbs for me, everyone else did 53lbs, monsters!)
50 double unders or 100 singles (I did 100 singles) jump rope, that is.
7 goblet squats (again, 35lbs)
I finished my set in 6 min and 51 sec.
I also stayed after our workout and ended up rowing 2 rounds of 1500 meters each on the rowing machine. Wanted to get some additional cardio in today. Yay!
