Hooraaay! My workout was awesome today, and my neck and shoulders are paying for it.. and my knees, too. hahaha
We worked on back squats today, 5 rounds of 5 reps at about 80% of our 1 rep max. I thought I would be good at 115lbs but nooo, I decided to up it some more to 135lbs, and what do you know.. I did it!
Back Squat – 135lbs (5 sets of 5 reps per set)
Then we set out on our WOD.. it was Fran-like, Erin M said! It was the following:
10 min AMRAP
3 reps of thrusters
3 reps of pull ups
6 reps of thrusters
6 reps of pull ups
and so on and so on, (3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, etc..)
I got through 15 squat thrusters, and 15 jumping pull ups (with a 24″ box) and then went on to do 7 more squat thrusters.
My bar weighed a total of 55lbs. Not too bad! I was pretty happy with that. The weight of the bar on my left wrist really aggravated it though, thanks to snowboarding! So I had to change my grip around a little in order to keep going and pushing through. Erin M recommended taping up that wrist with these sorts of lifts, so that it’s more protected. I will try to remember to get some, so that I can try that next time!
I ALSO wore a maxi dress for the first time ever.. in my life, tonight. Of course I don’t own a full length mirror and I have no way of taking a picture for you.. It sounds much more glamorous than it actually is, but still, I wore it, it didn’t look like a nightgown, and I’m pretty comfortable in it. Weeee!
