Another day of feeling amazing! I took all of my aminos on point, just as I had outlined in the schedule from last night, and just.. as the day went on, I continued to feel great. I had very little soreness from yesterday’s WOD, which I was actually pretty surprised about. It was a toughie!
But yeah, I got to the gym, I felt great, and I attribute it all to the amino acids and my diet, which as been pretty awesome lately.
I didn’t leave the office til 5p today, which put me home around 5:15p. I could’ve made it to the 5:30p class, but I wouldn’t have been able to take my Phenylalanine, drink my coffee, and then take my BCAAs with ample time in between everything, so I opted to space it all out properly, and go to Oly Club at 6:30p (get some skill work in) and then do the 7:30p WOD. It worked out great!
I need to work on my snatch pulls. I’m either popping the bar too low (off my thighs, instead of a little bit higher) or I’m just muscling it up. I can power snatch most of the weight, and I rarely squat snatch, because of how uncomfortable it is on my wrist. Excuses? Sure. But it hurts my wrist so I don’t do it. I was glad I got some practice time in, and it’s awesome that Derek does Oly Club 3 times a week. I really need to make an effort to go more often.
After Oly Club, I stuck around for the 7:30p WOD. It was the following:
12 min EMOM
Odd Minutes: 4 power cleans at 75% (130 for me)
Even Minutes: ME Rope Climbs
I switched it up and did rope climbs first and then power cleans, as there was a shortage of ropes. I did a total of 5 rope climbs (skipped the last one, because my calf and foot are all burned up from the rope tonight. My fault, I forgot my sock and used a crappy one instead.) and I did all 24 power cleans. Pretty rough! It was harder than it looked on paper.
My hands hurt. Man, after those snatch and clean pulls, and practice, the knurling on the bar is pretty wicked.
