The day after Christmas.. I went to the 4:30p class, which is usually the 4th class of the day, but there were no other scores on the board from the morning classes (there weren’t any morning classes!). It was so weird! I didn’t realize how accustomed I was to checking other people’s scores and numbers and times and then setting my own goals based on that. I literally felt lost without a goal time or weight to compare my effort to.. It was eerie, and eye opening too.
So anyway.. we did a 400m run as a warm up, which I did, but I opted to row instead of run for the WOD. I didn’t want to jeopardize my feet getting injured again like last time, where I could barely fucking walk the day after.
Our workout was the following:
400m Run before each set
21-15-9
Deadlifts (225/155)
Burpee Box Jumps (24/20″)
Like I said, I rowed instead of ran, which was good for my feet. I RXed the weight and the height, of course. Those burpees get me every time, but I pushed through.
This may be weird to some, but it’s an achievement/accomplishment for me.. something that used to always bug me!! I’ve been noticing something lately.. while I row, when I bend my knees and bring the handlebar thing back to starting position, I don’t have to move my knees out of the way of my tummy anymore when I come all the way up to the front of the rower. I can bring myself all the way back to starting position and keep my knees bent, but close together, because my tummy has gotten so much smaller. does that make sense?? It makes sense to me, and it’s AWESOME. 🙂
