Of course, here I go again, waiting to post about an awesome day. On Tuesday, we had an amazing WOD. It was hard, I struggled, grunted and yelled my way through it.
We started out with some Atlas Stones.. 4 rounds of Tabata stone to shoulder.. so, 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest, 4 times.
My score was 19, with a 70+lb atlas stone. From the scores posted, that was one of the highest rep counts of the day. Only one other person got more, (22) and she was using a 45lb stone. Even the guys only did 19 reps!
So the WOD… This is where it got crazy. I was super impressed with my time, because as I was going, I realized that I was keeping up with Kyle, who is one of the genetic beasts at the gym. We were going, and I was like, no shit.. we’re kind of at the same pace here!
About halfway through though, I tripped on one of the box step ups, and threw my kettlebells by accident. I rammed my knee into the box and lost my footing. Not really embarrassing but annoying since it slowed me down. Anyway, here’s what the WOD was:
4 rounds of Tabata Stone to shoulder
*score is total reps
5 rounds
20 Fire hose slams
7 HSPU
10 KB Step Ups 55/35 20″box
I finished in 9:53 and Kyle finished in 9:50. I couldn’t believe it!!! I was so excited that I was able to do something more cardio based, but with weights (KBs) included, that I was able to do it REALLY well. AWESOME. I was so pleased with myself. 🙂
