Alright! Crossfit today was a blast. I’m excited about today, and I’m EXHAUSTED from today, holy moly. We started out with our warm ups with Erin M, good stuff. Then we moved into some other workouts.. starting with 2 rounds of the following:
10 push ups on the rings
10 good mornings (bar just below back of the neck, bend over 90* and back up.)
10 rowing motions.. sorry, forget what they’re called – where you stand a bit bent over, and pull the bar up to your ribs
10 dead lifts with the bar
I did this with an empty bar, just to get warmed up, and then we went into part of our work out. We did the following reps, 5, 5, 3, 3, 1 of front squats, gradually increasing our weights.
Anne and I teamed up. We started out with 55lbs, and actually did a couple extra sets of 5. We worked our way up, and my final weight on my bar was 115. So I did front squats with 115 lbs! The weight isn’t what hurts me so much, but my wrist and the angle in which it’s bent back. I need to work on my flexibility and learn to have the bar rest more on my chest/collarbone/shoulders area than on my hands so much. They just don’t bend back as far as I need them to!
Our WOD today was the following, in under 20 min.
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 reps
Squat Cleans, so starting from a squat sort of position, bringing the bar up from the ground to neck/chest level, dropping underneath it, elbows out and squatting at the same time, and then standing back up. Lower the bar back down and start from the ground again. At least that’s what I did! I had 55lbs on my bar the whole time.
Jumping pull ups. Since I am not doing pull ups yet, I had to stand up on top of the 24″ box, do the kipping motion (swinging forward and then back) and then after coming back, pulling up and jumping up to the bar at the same time. My time was 14:18 I believe.
My arms hurt from the pullups, and my knees hurt from the crazy squats today! Curious to see about tomorrow. Marisa is coming with me, and my mom might try it out too!!
