Whew! I’m perpetually sore. This is not news.
Today we did a different kind of WOD.. and I went at the 4:30p time instead, and I really liked it, so I’m glad I can keep my options open here… anyway, our WOD today was:
100 pull ups (no jumping for me! BANDED this time.. 100..)
Well, at some point after I finished my 50 HSPUs, Russ changed it to a lower # for the weaklings such as me, to 40/75. I was at #63 banded pull up, thinking I had 37 more to go, when come to find out, I only had 12 more to go! Now that’s exciting news.
So.. the deal was, every time you stopped and rested, that was a “rep”, and the goal was to complete the 50/75 (in my case) in as few reps as possible.
It took me 7 sets to complete the HSPUs (which I still suck at, and have to use the abmat and a couple weights..) and 9 sets to finish the banded pull ups.
When I was driving home, my arms felt tingly, like I had a slight sunburn and then scraped my skin.. (not painful) and then I realized it was the B-A (beta alanine) supplements I had just bought and taken today for the first time. Hah. The B-A supplements are supposed to help with endurance, which I need LOTS of help with in certain instances. Because my skin was tingling, and realized what it was, I felt the need to go home and work out more. So I pulled in the driveway, got my music out, and went for a 1/4 mile run down the street and back. Then I did the old warm ups of lunges, high knees, butt kicks, side to side lunges, and 25 squats. THEN I was done, and jumped in the pool with Sammi. 🙂
