A day with the boys today.. and Elaine! (She’s been doing Crossfit since Dec 17th, I believe she said.) We worked out with Erin C mainly today. Did our normal Erin C workouts, bear crawls, all these awkward floor positions for warming up.
Today we worked on back squats, and had to gradually increase our weight with each set of reps. We did 5, 5, 3, 3, 3, 3 of these. Started out with 70lbs and worked our way up to 105lbs. Elaine and I took turns with the reps, and while it wasn’t easy, I was definitely in control of each one. I can see how adding more weight is just killer for your knees! Lots of pressure on the way back up. The boys were doing weight like 285, etc. Holy moly. Watching them do this, you’d think they were going to have an aneurism or something. So crazy that they could do these squats with more weight than they weighed!
Our WOD today was the following:
12min AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)
12 box jumps (I DID IT!!!! 20″ box height.)
6 thrusters (squats with the bar on your chest, and then when you stand up, you press it up over your head)
6 bar facing burpees. (So.. you throw yourself down on the ground, do a push up, jump up, and twist and jump over the bar, and then do it again.. definitely not my favorite.)
I completed 4 rounds right up to the second. I kept the bar with no weights, so it was just a 35lb bar. I’ll build that up over time, though!
Today was definitely a chest killer! Felt the pressure on my lungs and chest/neck/collar bones big time, but these damn workouts always feel so good afterward. And the 20″ box jumps! Holy shit!!! I got back to the office and wanted to go around jumping up on stuff.. haha I didn’t, but I wanted to. My luck, I’d try to jump onto a chair and it would slip out from under me.. yeah, that would totally happen..
For this week, my schedule’s a bit messed up because we’re going to see TOOL tomorrow in Orlando!!! So excited! No spin tomorrow, unfortunately. I’m kinda bummed about that, but I’ll be going Thursday and I’ll be able to go to Diana’s class on Sunday, as well.

Friday: 11a Crossfit
Saturday: 9a Crossfit
Sunday: 1:30p Spinning with Diana
A regular week will be Mon/Wed Crossfit, Tues/Thurs Spin, with every other Sunday Spin as well. Excited to have my schedule set! See you Thursday. 🙂
