The pressure’s on!! Everyone’s counting on me to make the perfect metal workout playlist… I know, it’s tough, but someone’s gotta do it. I think by Wednesday we should have Inertia Metal vol. 1 ready to go, though. Kind of excited about this. (hint: Cowboys from Hell has just passed the “What would I like to listen to if I had to do 30 burpees” test and made it through to the finals..)
Aside from all that.. Day 1 of Paleo is about an hour away from being successfully completed!! The only offenders today were the 6 tiny cup things of half and half that made their way into my anxiety-provoking coffee.. HOW’D THAT HAPPEN?!?! Weird.. (and the sweet & low.. GEEZ…) I had to fess up about the S&L because honestly, I didn’t feel like photoshopping the pink packets out of the picture below. As my friend Bryce said, write it all down cause it keeps you honest! Well, there. I wrote it down.
For my workout today, we killed it, as always. Today it was the Boys and Alicia class, which I promptly abbreviated to the B&A class.

5 pullups (I did the swing, pull and jump things)
5 ring dips (ring jumps for me.. I’m getting stronger with these already, I can feel it.)

With my Dead Lifts for the Strength part of today, I started with 85 lbs and worked my way up to 155 lbs. A new PR for me! YAY. I think what hurt the most from the dead lifts were my hands. I’m sure I could’ve lifted more, but the skin on my palms was telling me otherwise.

10 KB swings (I wimped out and used the 24 pounder. I’m so glad.)

I completed 3 rounds exactly today in 10 min. My burpees are getting stronger too, which is nice, since I hate them so much.
After our workout today, I headed back to the office and really only had water and about a cup’s worth of shelled walnuts. (Thank you, Sam’s Club, for providing these things in giant quantities..) I didn’t eat “lunch” til 4p, in which I decided I had better not wait any longer to eat, and, what better than to try out than the all new Paleo Chipotle! Yess.. I opted for a ‘salad’ which is really a burrito bowl with lettuce instead of rice, no beans, barbacoa and carnitas (shredded beef and shredded pork, respectively.) green peppers, onions, mild salsa and guacamole. No cheese, no sour cream, no corn, even! It was pretty good. Not as amazing as it would’ve been with cheese and sour cream of course, but that’s okay. I’m happy with the fact that it wasn’t super awesome, because that means I won’t want to go there every day.
Dinner – really exciting. 1 piece of sirloin steak, cooked in a skillet with olive oil. Delish. I made a salad too, but I just wasn’t hungry enough to eat that too, so I’m saving it for tomorrow’s lunch. 🙂 And then I had a handful of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, thanks to Publix for combining all these wonderful items together in one package.
I’m looking forward to spinning at 5:30p, and I’ll need to leave earlier tomorrow from work to ensure that I get a bike, since last week they were all gone when I got there.
