I haven’t PRed my deadlift in YEARS. As in, back in the old gym years. So naturally, I didn’t think I’d do it today either. I went in early for deadlift work with Bre, with the intention that we’d do the WOD afterwards, too.
I pulled 315, which I was excited about! I hadn’t done that in a long ass time!! And then I went for 345. A 10lb PR for me. I pulled, and missed. Noooooo.. So defeated!!! Tom says from across the room, “you didn’t want it enough. If you wanted it enough, you would’ve gotten it..”
Which of course pissed me off and it’s what he was trying to do. So I asked if a belt would help, because I’ve never DLed with a belt (or done anything with a belt for that matter). I went over, strapped one on nice and tight, and then… I fucking picked it up.
