Alright, so if you read my previous post, you’ll know that I did two workouts yesterday, and not just one.
Here’s the explanation of the 2nd half of my day. 🙂
I went back at 5:30p with one of my employees, Nick, who wanted to check out the new place. There were SO MANY PEOPLE THERE. It was quite intimidating, but whatever. I’m getting over that, and I’m starting to realize that people don’t know that I’m new to the facilities, so I just smile and introduce myself and hope I remember their names later.
Nick brought his sister, who had never done CF before.. They paired up for the partner WOD, and Tom, one of the trainers, suggested I do the 100 wall balls instead. (I wasn’t feeling the partner WOD again, especially after the excruciating hell my left foot was putting me through.) I said, instead of 100 WB, how about I just do “Karen” and try for my best time? He agreed. “Karen” is a benchmark WOD where you do 150 wall balls for time.
So.. when they started, I started my Karen WOD, which last time I got 10:09 on when Elaine and I did them together in May. Yesterday, I ended up finishing in 9 min 13 sec, which is quite an improvement! I was really happy with that.
When I finished, I turned around and saw Nick’s sister throw in the towel, and he was left to do his half of the partner WOD by himself. I jumped in with him and shared some box jumps with him (pretty difficult and painful on my shins after 150 wall balls!) Once he finished his 25 box jumps, I went outside with him and we did the resistance runs, 50m x 4. He pulled so much harder than Erin did!! Oh man, those were killer. I’m sure that’s what ended up causing all the pain on my left arch, but fuck it, whatever. Builds character, right?
Since that was the end of his WOD, that was it, but I was glad I could jump in and do a little extra.
Now… this morning, at 4:30a, Sammi, our German Shepherd, kept bugging me and trying to wake me up because she had to go outside. I finally gave in and got up to take her out, but when I went to stand up out of bed, I nearly fell over because my feet were so incredibly messed up. I literally couldn’t walk for a short period of time, from the arch pain, and held myself up on the edge of the bed. Good lord. I hobbled (putting my weight on the outside edges of my feet) in an attempt to get to the bathroom and put some clothes on. The pain comes and goes, and sometimes stretching it helps, but then other times, I’ll be stretching it but off of it for awhile, and the next time I go to walk, it’s hell all over again. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
