Crossfit Day 227 – Open Gym – Helen – 3/3/13

Wow Helen was tough in these temps! It was in the 40s this morning at Open Gym, and really dry. My lungs hurt and I didn’t warm up as much as I should have. My fault.

Helen is:

3RFT
400m run
21 KB swings
12 pull ups (one green band for me)

I finished in 15:14. I had never done Helen before so it’s a good baseline for me. My legs/quads finally felt better today too.

I’d ALSO like to report that as of yesterday, I am FINALLY down another 2 lbs! Jesus Christ. It’s taken me since Sept to budge on the scale. Not that I’ve been trying to lose weight, but I just kinda hope that with what I’m eating and doing every day that it will naturally happen. I’ve gotten smaller, but not lighter. Well I’m LIGHTER NOW.

I will verify this again tomorrow.. I tried not to overdo it today, but I did have a few pieces of dark chocolate and a sip of Dave’s delicious vanilla milkshake from SmashBurger today.  It was my first cheat meal in awhile.

Which leads me to another point. I’ve been dairy free with the exception of today and one or two days last weekend when we were in South Florida. I can’t say that I feel a difference without it, but I do feel more bloated now when I DO have it. (Like when I had a protein shake with my casein protein powder, which apparently is mostly dairy.. awesome.. no more of that.)

My substitutes have been almond milk and coconut milk. So far so good! Maybe eliminating the dairy is what finally helped me move a bit on the scales. 🙂 Time will tell!
