Crossfit Day 607 – Memorial Day Murph – 5/30/16

My very first FULL Murph. This was a big day. I have been stressing and worrying and fretting over this day. A few months ago, I made a deal with Gina that I’d do a full Murph with her. It would be my first Full Murph, and I was determined to do it. The weeks and days leading up to it, I had been seriously sweating it. 100 pull ups? How am I going to do 100 pull ups? I can’t even get through 25 without taking a ton of breaks! 2 miles?? I haven’t run 2 miles, oh.. ever! Like literally ever. Except that one time I did a 5k, and that took me 43 minutes. Right. Exactly. I’ve never run 2 miles before.

So then I was like, fine, maybe I’ll do the whole reps, but half miles! And Dave was all like, what’s the big deal? Just run the two miles! And so then I stressed it, again. I finally found a rep scheme that I could tolerate. 2-4-6 pull ups, push ups, air squats. I CAN DO THAT. So I did.

Ladies and Gentlemen.. my very first full Murph. 2016. Finishing at 72 minutes and 35 seconds. 1 hour, 12 minutes, 35 seconds.
